nawawiDay.commentary
A divine hadith (ḥadīth qudsī). Allah's mercy and need-meeting are infinite — but accessed by asking.
nawawiDay.extendedExplanation
The longest ḥadīth qudsī in the Forty. Allah Himself, on the tongue of His Messenger ﷺ, declares: I have forbidden injustice on Myself. He needs nothing from us; the entire universe of human good or bad does not affect Him. Yet He has tied Himself by His own decree to forbid injustice on the creation.
The hadith systematically dismantles every excuse: every human is hungry, naked, lost, sinning — yet provision, clothing, guidance, and forgiveness are within reach by simply asking. Allah’s treasury is not diminished by an ocean dipped from it by a needle. The barrier is not on Allah’s side — it is on ours.
nawawiDay.fromScholars
"He forbade injustice on Himself though He has the right to do as He wills — out of His perfect mercy. So how can a creature, who has no rights of his own, justify wronging another creature?"
"Every blessing in your life is from Allah; every evil is from yourself. This is the door to true repentance — owning the sin while attributing the gift."
nawawiDay.fiqhRulings
- •Ẓulm (injustice) is of three types: shirk (the greatest), wronging others, wronging oneself by sin.
- •Du‘ā’ is itself worship — and Allah loves to be asked. Avoiding asking is a form of arrogance.
- •Asking through the Names and Attributes of Allah is the most beloved form: ‘Yā Razzāq, Yā Rahmān…’

nawawiDay.keyBenefits

nawawiDay.warnings
- ⚠‘Allah forbade injustice on Himself’ does not mean Allah is bound by anything outside Himself — He bound Himself by His own free choice.
- ⚠Believing that du‘ā’ ‘doesn’t work’ is a form of disbelief in Allah’s promise — the response may be delayed, redirected, or stored for ākhirah.
