التعريف
The blessed month in which the Qur'an was first revealed, in which the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell closed, and in which Laylat al-Qadr — better than a thousand months — falls.
النطق: ra-ma-ḌĀN
الاشتقاق والجذر
From ر-م-ض (r-m-ḍ), meaning 'intense heat' — the month was named when it once fell in the height of summer.
الاستخدام في القرآن
'The month of Ramaḍān is that in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people.' (al-Baqarah 2:185)
التطبيق العملي
Plan Ramaḍān before it begins — Qur'an goal, ṣadaqah plan, i‘tikāf intention. Without planning, the month passes and the soul is the same.
