One of the earliest converts to Islam and a close companion of the Prophet ﷺ. Known for his deep knowledge of the Qur'an — the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever wishes to recite the Qur'an as fresh as it was revealed, let him recite it as Ibn Umm Abd recites.'
